NCIS: Los Angeles - Found (1x21) music

This #NCISLA episode ended very tragically. The crew choose a very good song to bring out the sadness.

Peter Gabriel - I grieve

It was only one hour ago
It was all so different then
Nothing yet has really sunk in
Looks like it always did
This flesh and bone
Is just the way that we are tied in
But there's no one home

I grieve for you
And you leave me

So hard to move on
Still loving what's gone
Say life carries on
Carries on and on and on and on

The news that truly shocks
Is the empty, empty page
While the final rattle rocks
Its empty, empty cage
And I can't handle this

I grieve for you
You leave me

Let it out and move on
Missing what's gone
Say life carries on
Say life carries on and on and on

Life carries on in the people I meet
In everyone that's out on the street
In all the dogs and cats
In the flies and rats
In the rod and the rust
In the ashes and the dust
Life carries on and on and on and on
Life carries on and on and on
Life carries on and on and on and on
Life carries on and on and on
Just the car that we ride in
The home we reside in
The face that we hide in
The way we are tied in
As life carries on and on and on and on
Life carries on and on and on

Did I dream this belief
Or did I believe this dream
Now I will find relief

I grieve

Chris O'Donnell - Christmas Morning Madness

This Christmas Eve, proud papa of five Chris O’Donnell and his wife Caroline are just gearing up for the usual madness that takes place in their home during the holidays.

“We get the tree and decorate it, and the night before Christmas, we take a picture,” the “Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore” star tells CGL of his family’s holiday traditions. Sounds sane enough. But come Christmas morning, all deck the halls breaks loose!

Inside Scoop ***NEW***

Insider here! Back to field some more questions. There's one whose answer I've been trying to figure out for quite a while. Way back in July, Ebenister asked for a list of all the songs used in our episode entitled "Fame". Here you go, Ebenister. Happy listening.

"Brighter" by Jez Pike
"Took The Night" by Chelley
"Licky" (Herve Radio Edit) by Larry Tee
"Up In The Club" by Fulford
"Medicine Man" (JK Remix) by Caged Baby
"Shades of California" (Quadra Beat) by Salme Dahlstrom
"Gucci Sweatshirt" by Lazer Sword

Next up, Invisible357 asks what kind of backpacks Kensi and Deeks are wearing in their scene riding dirtbikes through the desert. They're both wearing the Oakley AP Backpack 3.0. It's really cool. I'm looking at one as I write this and its got tons of compartments, plenty metal buckles and handles, padded backing and straps, and best of all it looks cool when it gets all worn and dirty.

Speaking of Kensi and Deeks, NCISLArocks asks if the two will ever "get together". First off, I love the name. And if by "get together" you mean "become romantically involved", I honestly don't know the answer to that one. If there is one, it's hidden deep in the minds of our writers. I can, however, tell you there will be some pretty intense (romantic?) moments in the episodes to come. If this sounds cagey, then good. I don't want to spoil what's coming for anyone, but it's BIG. If you want to know what I'm talking about, you'll have to tune in so KEEP COMING BACK!

@petercambor (NCIS: Los Angeles) and Derek Miller (Secret Girlfriend) will also star in the TBS pilot, The Wedding Band, along with Brian Austin Green and Lost star Harold Perrineau.

Band is an hourlong comedy that centers on a group of guys who try to escape the stress and chaos of their lives by performing in a wedding band. Led by best buddies — a bachelor and a married father of two — the band will not let anything get in the way of making each event memorable.

The project, which comes from FremantleMedia is executive produced by Tollin Productions (Smallville). Josh Lobis (South Park) and Darin Moiselle (South Park) penned the pilot and will serve as exec producers. Bryan Gordon (Curb Your Enthusiasm) will direct and co-exec produce the pilot.

Disorder (2x11) recap

It's Christmas time and as Carolers sing at the doorstep of a home in a quiet L.A neighborhood, gunshots ring out and the bloody figure of a man appears at the door and two men are found shot to death inside. NCIS:LA is called in when the identity of the bloody man is discovered to be a former Navy Intelligence agent, Brett Talbot, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. The team must figure out who killed the two men in his home and do the murders have anything to do with Talbot's intelligence work in Afghanistan. The team speaks to Talbot’s psychiatrist who tells them Talbot's PTSD is crippling to his life; this resonates with Kensi.

In order to help Talbot remember what happened the night of the murders, Kensi divulges to him that her former fiancé also suffered from PTSD and she tried but could not help him. They take Talbot back home to try and jog his memory but he panics and starts to regress and suddenly admits he killed both men in self-defense after one man, a drug dealer, shot the other man, Talbot's nurse. Kensi grows closer to Talbot which almost gets her killed when the Iranian Secret Police try to shoot her to get to Talbot. As Sam and Callen dig deeper into Talbot's past, they find a former fiancee who tells them Talbot is a sociopath and pathological liar. They relay the info to Kensi and Talbot catches on, attacking her, but Deeks fires at Talbot who gets away.

A chase ensues and the team realizes Talbot faked his PTSD to have an alibi when he sold his intelligence secrets to the Iranians. His nurse caught on to his plan and brought a drug dealer friend to try and strong arm Talbot into giving them a cut so he killed them. Kensi catches up to Talbot first and must put her feelings aside and takes the shot, killing him.

Hetty surprises everyone by giving them Christmas gifts. The real surprise comes when they all open them and realize she has re-gifted presents all of them have given her over the years.

Sunday with Chris O'Donnell

Clean-cut, polite, and Midwestern to the core, Chris O’Donnell even apologizes for not mustering a short answer to a short question. We forgive the 40-year-old actor the occasional ramble, because his day job, chasing down criminals on NCIS: Los Angeles, is calm compared to the kiddie-land chaos at home. O’Donnell and wife Caroline wrangle a brood of five. “On Saturday morning,” he says, “it’s like we’re shot out of a cannon.” Family weekends begin—no joke—with four soccer games, two football games, and a riding lesson. “My wife and I split up and cover the town,” he explains. “All day we text each other scores.” No wonder the former Boy Wonder can only talk while he’s at work. That’s where Kate Meyers caught up with him.

Shane Brennan on the Future of NCIS and NCIS: LA

Season 8 of NCIS has almost reached its halfway point, but when the CBS procedural returns with new episodes in January, there's plenty more action in store. At the HRTS Hitmakers Luncheon on December 8, executive producer Shane Brennan took some time out to discuss an Emmy-worthy performance by guest star Bob Newhart, the future of Tiva and whether or not there's romantic potential on NCIS: Los Angeles.

TV Showrunners: The Network Shapes the Show

Panel of TV "hitmakers" discuss creating series at HRTS luncheon series
By Andrea Morabito -- Broadcasting & Cable, 12/8/2010 6:59:32 PM

A group of showrunners Wednesday shared their experiences creating hit series at The Hollywood Radio & Television Society's Newsmaker Luncheon Series "The Hitmakers" in Los Angeles, where the consensus was the network one's show airs on makes a big difference.

Moderator Peter Tolan, co-creator, executive producer, writer and director of FX's Rescue Me, asked the group about the differences working for a network with an established brand, versus one that's in flux, like NBC

"I don't think there's a writer here who wouldn't see NBC's woes as an opportunity," said Shane Brennan, whose shows NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles, are on CBS. "Working for a very successful studio or network can be very limiting, because they want to stick with what's working."

Shane Brennan at HRTS event "The Hitmakers"

During the panel @HRTSInfo Shane Brennan the Executive Producer of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles - both airing Tuesday's at CBS - answered several questions.

Questioned about the biggest difference in producing a TV show in Australia or the US he admitted that it is all about "Money.".

During the panel Shane Brennan stated that it is difficult to work with such big crews. Crews are much smaller in Australia.

He revealed that producing a procedural show is a constant battle between the actual procedural part of the show and building the characters which in fact is the part that the audience is calling for.

In his opinion TV show producers have three episodes to loose a viewer. If you have one bad episode the viewer might see it as a one-time failure but turn on the next week. After the second bad episode there is this weird feeling about the show. With the third bad episode the viewer will definitely check the schedule what's on on the other channels.

All the above is out of my memories/notes during the live-stream of "The Hitmakers" at hrts.org.
