Red Tails hits cinemas January 20, 2012
@danielaruah's film "Red Tails" (executive producer George Lucas) is about the first all African-American aerial combat unit and announced to be a high-flying action epic film.

Cast meets sailors
SAN DIEGO -- More than 75 USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Sailors attended Comic-Con International 2011, at the San Diego Convention Center July 22.
As Vinson Sailors ventured the crowded lanes and poster-ridden signature booths, attendees and exhibitors showed support with salutes and souvenirs, thanking them for their service.
"It was my first time ever going to Comic-Con… I read about it, saw it on television, heard about the big hype," said Lt. Cmdr. Bryan Lukie, USS Carl Vinson Principle Assistant for Logistics (PALS) officer.
As the day went on Sailors were introduced to media personnel and cast members of the CBS television series "NCIS: Los Angeles".

Patch recently spoke with Patchogue native Renée Felice Smith, who is now a series regular cast member on the TV show NCIS: LA. A spin-off of NCIS, government agents take on undercover work to solve difficult cases, especially those surrounding Navy personnel. Season three recently began filming and will premiere on Sept. 20.
Patchogue Patch: Walk me through the process of how this all came about. In particular, with NCIS: LA. How does one land a role such as that?
Renée Felice Smith: Basically, it's through an audition, like anything else. I auditioned back in August 2010, in New York, for the New York casting directors. They pass your tapes along. Sometimes people in Los Angeles see them, sometimes they don't. I don't really know how it works. I'm guessing that if you catch someone's eye in New York, they'll put in a good word for you with the people who are the show-runners in Los Angeles. And that's sort of how it happened. So the creator of the show, Shane Brennan, called me and told me I'd be coming out to Los Angeles to screen test for the role. And that's what I did. It just kind of unfolded from there.

Christina got the scoop...
"The Insider" correspondent Christina McLarty got the scoop on LL Cool J's dirty secret, going behind the scenes of "NCIS: Los Angeles."
It might not show, but LL confessed to Christina that he went off his diet "pretty frequently" while on hiatus from his hit CBS drama, which will return with all-new episodes on September 20.
Christina also caught up with the cast at Comic-Con over the weekend where she moderated their panel.
While they kept mum on most of the juicy details concerning their upcoming season plot twists, Christina did learn that one of the cast members "will be shot."
"NCIS: Los Angeles" airs Tuesdays on CBS.

This is a real dynamic duo if ever I saw one. No, Chris O’Donnell isn’t returning as Robin, with British actor Craig Robert Young as a new trusted sidekick (though that would be fun)… but the pair, seen here in my exclusive on-set-snap, are back starring together in the upcoming season of NCIS: Los Angeles, hitting our screens this coming fall.
I can’t give too much away, but I can tell you someone has a serious vendetta against Special Agent G. Callen played by O’Donnell, which is sure to have a grisly end.
