I have heard two different opinions on the closing song... "I Grieve" By Peter Gabriel and also "Long lost" by Zac Brennan. I already deleted the episode so I can't comfirm yet

I should mention I can not find the long lost song anywhere

I compared the "I Grieve" Lyrics by peter gabriel... They are slightly different and it is a different mix So Maybe Zac Brennan covered the song?? Though they are Very Similar and I believe the original is
"I grieve" By Peter Gabriel

This is not "I grieve". Not only is the melody different, but so are the words. I can't find one reference on the net for zac brennan, let alone any lyrics for long lost. Frustrating!

Thanks for all your comments so far... :-)

I wonder how Zac Brennan & "Long Lost" came up b/c I really don't find *anything* about the singer or the song.
I'd love to know more about him/it...

The song at the end of "Deadline" is Duff Dugan, "Normal Man"

Actually, "Normal Man" isn't it, either. SORRY! Believed another post. Song sound similar.

It is not Normal Man either. Here are some of the lyrics;
I’ve got a small box of memories. It’s all just a jigsaw. as I get older, I wish there was more than this empty feeling that comes at a cost. Maybe once you loved me but now your love is long lost You standing strong along the shoreline as I build my castles in the sand.
The line, " I wish there was more than this empty feeling that comes at a cost. Maybe once you loved me but now your love is long lost", seems to be a chorus.

I looked through the credits at the end of the episode and they didn't have anything on it so I went to the spot where the song played and wrote down all the words, I've been trying hard to find this, but maybe one of you will have better luck finding it, so here are the lyrics:
"I've got a small box of memories that I'll never let go its all, its all just a jigsaw as i get older there still so much that i don't know wish there was more than this empty feeling that comes at a cost maybe once you loved me now your love is lost you were standing strong at shore line while i built me castles in sand and time will wash away the kingdom leave you with nothing except an reminder in your hand and i wish there was more than this empty feeling that comes at a cost maybe one you loved me now your love is lost"

Agghhh!! I found this page while trying to find out who did that song! Thing is, I feel like I've heard that singer before. Fairly distinct voice. I ran the Shazam app while the song played, checked the CBS page, watched credits, Googled the hell out of the lyrics......nothing. But I'll keep trying.

It is now confirmed that the song is called Long Lost by Zac Brennan, Shane Brennan's son.

WHO is Zac Brennan? I am going nuts trying to find out what this song is!!! Why doesn't the NCIS LA site have this info? All I remember is the song had a reference to the phoenix... and that it wasn't the last song, it was the second to last. It's not "I grieve" for sure. But what is it? help?

I followed some links in this post and am hoping it is a song by Zac Brennan, who is the son of the creator of NCIS LA! Here's a link that helped...http://ncislafan.blogspot.com/2011/10/deadline-3x04-music_19.html
I hope this song becomes available soon so I can lay this mystery to rest. The lyrics haunting me....
