I loved season 1, I called it #MyNCISLA ; it was my fav so far. But S3 is really good too... I'll get a lot of enemies, but without 3x21 & 3x22 (last one had too many mistakes we never spot usually in the show...), it's had matched S1...

Season 1 was best and second place season 3 (though 3_13, 3_19 and 3_22 were not my favorites).
But season 2 was worst due to the introcution and the focus on Deeks.
Season 3 too much focus on Sam and his mission in Sudan, the follow up and the Seal thing to be No. 1.
Season 1 was just a perfect balance and undercover work for Callen. I mean almost no undercover work for him since. He is an undercover agent, right?
Shane Brennan should focus more on his main character G. Callen.

Season 2 is my fav season so far, was when we got to know better the characters we started to love. Also was when Deeks was introduced and I think he brought a lot of fun to the team. I really liked S3 very much, it's a close second. S1 remains my least fav season.

Season one was fantastic, a great beginning with a fantastic cast- and fantastic side characters like Renko popping up!

Season two got even better with the addition of extra humour with Deeks and the 'thing' he has going on with Kensi- though I was sad to see Nate go- but we also got Nell!

Season three was a rollercoaster, and it was nice to get some more background on characters other than G which the other seasons focused a little more on. The finale crushed my heart and I'm dying for more. I bet season four will be even better!

All that said, I really don't think I can pick a favourite. They all had really fantastic episodes, but they also had their own respective downsides. All in all it's a pretty well balanced show.

Season 1 for me, it was fresh different, and introduced us to some fun characters.

In season 2 I liked Deeks coming in to the role, but there was two much Kensie/Deeks settling in.

This season is my secind fav.the episodes evenly spread out amongst the team, the Sam/Khaled thing still not resolved, got the Callen and Sam out of LA, and a great piec of acting from COD in the identification scene.

So a good season ending with a chess game that is going to keep us moving the pieces for most of the Summer.

I actually liked all seasons in a diffrent way. Shane Brennan really has a way to choose a character and put him/her in a situation so people learn to know him/her.

Season 1 was more concentrated on G.Callen and discovering hes full name.

Of course Dom's death touched me as Kate died in NCIS season 2.

I like the cast more than ever after watching season 2 and 3, they brought refresh to the cast, bringing brack Nate.

Season 3, I didn't really like Renko's death but it applies to all agents out there that there is a danger being killed in the line of duty, so it reflects it so well for the public viewer.

Season 2 impacted more on the whole team, Hunter changed their lives harder, Deeks and Kensi's relationship has boosted over time.

Keep coming 4th season,

Close between Season 2 and 3. I think Season 2 may have the edge for me. There needs to be more forward movement for all the characters in Season 4.

2 and 3! 2 because we got Deeks and Kensi as new partners and 3 because they went undercover as a married couple!!!

1.S3 2.S2 3.S1 :D

S3 was the most thrilling of all three, developing every character almost equally and starting to affirm the main four plus hetty as the main protagonists instead of only Callen and Sam. Best stories also! Comescu and Densi eps were all awesome! We came to notice some major changes in our beloved characters, it had the best eps of all 3 seasons!

S2 started giving some characters other than Sam and Callen some more stardom. Kensi became some more than just another agent, Deeks came and completed the team, Nell gave some interest to the OSP center.

Worst about S3: Sam-centric eps...
Worst about S2: some bad scripts, Sam-centric eps...
Worst about S1: BORING.

First of all - THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREAT COMMENTS ALREADY...

After watching some reruns of Season One lately I must admit I remembered why I fell in love with the show in the first place. Season One had those great team moments... lots of Callen undercover work...

Season Two had its moments... I absolutely loved "Standoff" & the finale episodes... Season Two brought us Deeks and Nell so of course it was different from the first one...

I also loved all the *BOOM* in Season Three but there weren't that many episodes I really really loved & would rewatch on a bad day...

For Season Four I'm hoping we're going a bit more "back to the roots"... for me personally it doesn't have to be "faster, higher, stronger" in every episode...

To me, second half of season 1, second half of season 2 , most of season 3, and the rest ... #seriously I have some eps I prefer, some I find less, but in the end #Iloveit !

I loved season 3 finale, Hawai crossover was good in some point, Kensi and Deeks as a married couple,I also loved Sam making a hardest decision ever between a suspect or letting them go in a save mission, 3x19 Vengeance

Season 1 ws a good opening, but for a long time I felt there was something not quite right. Perhpas too much focus on Callen? the weak character of Dom? The balance started to change with the entrance of Deeks, and season 2 continued this, with the burgeoning relationship between him and Kensi. Removing Nate and introducing Nell was another good move. Season 3 has continued in this vein, focusing on the interplay between all the characters, allowing more focus on Sam as an individual, rather just as Callen's partner. I think each season has improved upon the last, in terms of character dynamics, and has moved from being a show about the Callen character to a show about the team. We've also learnt that Callen is not the only person with a messed-up past, and the layers of com plexity grow deeper with each episode.
So I'd be hard put to choose a favourite season, appreciating each for itself, but if pushed, I guess I would vote 3,2, 1.

In terms of overall stories, i would put S2 as my favorite, with S3 as second (the first half of S3 was the stronger half imo) and then S1. I also chose S2 because i think it was a huge improvement trading Nate and Dom for Deeks and Nell. Deeks is probably my favorite character, although, like Kensi, sometimes i think he talks to much. :) I'm also liking the development of the characters - Sam, Callen and Kensi, as well as the gradual development of 'Densi', those two make a great couple but the writers are hitting just the right pace in developing their relationship. Of course those two will get together eventually.

I would like to see a Deeks centric episode at some point, one that focuses a little more on his past.

I think the show has become better each season. I didn't watch it too often in Season 1, but caught the Season 2 opener "Human Traffic" and was hooked because of Deeks. I did go back and watch the other two episodes he was in in Season 1, and I must say, his scene at the end of "Fame" where he puts on his sunglasses made the show look like it came from LA for me.

I liked Season 2 and 3 has been okay, mainly because they fleshed out Deeks and Kensi's relationship, but I would like to know more about Deeks background and would like them to round out his character more with interaction with the other team members.

I trust Shane Brennan's vision for the show. He knows what he is doing and although the season ending cliffhanger drove me crazy, I can't wait for Season 4.

Although I enjoyed season one, I realized I fell in love with the show after watching The Job in Season Two. It came full circle with Personal and Plan B. I guess you can tell I'm a Densi fan, no?

I thought I liked S1 when it aired, but as soon as Deeks was introduced, the show shot through the roof for me personally. He is my favorite character, so S2 and S3 are my faves.
Also due to the fact that we got Nell. I liked Dom and Nate, don't get me wrong, but for me personally the show worked even better with the extra humor we got through Deeks/Kensi and Nell/Eric interactions.

I loved season 1. Friendship between main charakters was better, Callen and Sam were like big brothers to Kensi, and after Dom's disappearance, they had hang together and I loved how they worked together on cases. I like Deeks, but his coming changed relationship between Callen, Sam and Kensi. But season 3 is really good too, except few episodes

The first season was excellent. The 2nd and the 3rd as well.
I like Deeks and left the show more comic, but I miss seeing Callen and Kensi with the investigations.
Came Deeks, and until it seems that Kensi, never worked with Callen.
Episode 3x03 was ridiculous Kensi, asking Sam how her could act with Callen. Shane missed the first season?

I'm not a fan density, like them together, but as partners. And what I like most of the show is to see the interaction of Sam and Callen, Callen and Hetty.

Bring on season 4 and more Callen, who is the best character in the series, if he leaves the series, I leave to attend the show.

according to tv guide Hetty has resigned for good and Granger is taking over. Without Hetty(Linda Hunt) they show won't be half as good that showed in the first crossover episode when that blonde woman was the boss. I didn't much like it. So you had better bring her back or you will be losing alot of viewers

Overall I would say all episodes wrote by Shane Brennan are the best. He sets the focus on his lead character and how the team deals with it and the interaction of them.
But to answer the question it is S1. But it also seems to me that the focus on Callen becomes less. Probably he becomes less attractive due to the weight he gains with every season. This is something that doesn't fit with the character of Callen at all. Looking exhausted, tired.. all okay, but not gaining weight.

Season 1 was great with the focus on Callen. Season 2 broughts us great new characters Deeks & Nell, but we lost Nate. Season 3 did not have enough focus on Callen. He neede to do more undercover work, show us why he is. "Legend".

I really liked the Hawaii 5O crossover & the finale with that last shot of Callen broke my heart.

My favorite is definetly Season 1.

Season 3 is my favorite... I love Mr. Callen and Hunter moments... We need to see more of that!!! The cast in relationships or something!!!

Seasons 2 & 3!! No, wait, season 1 also but from ep19 onwards... Deeks is the best thing that has happened to this show. He was the missing link in season 1 and thankfully the people in charge of the show made the tough decision to cut Don and found him. Without that crucial decision, the show would have never gotten to season 3...
