Advent Calendar NEWS
We're happy to announce today that we are having an ADVENT CALENDAR on the NCIS Los Angeles FAN blog this year !!
This is what will happen:
Every day there will be a ADVENT CALENDAR post on the blog looking like this...
Your task is to guess the episode the screencap is from and note down the letter according to the number given in the post. Note: when you click on the picture it'll pop up a bit bigger...
In this example:
- episode is 1x01 "Identity"
- the number is 6
- the sixth letter is "i"
- note down "i"
The ADVENT CALENDAR starts December 1st and runs until December 24th... on the 24th you'll have all the letters which need to be combined to a solution word...
During the run time of the ADVENT CALENDAR we'll have little extra posts... these can but must not include hints on number of words, hints on words, possible prizes to win, etc. etc. ...
If you happen to have any questions regarding the ADVENT CALENDAR please send your email to adventcalendar@ncislafan.com and we are happy to help.

Ask Matt...
After reading the Nov. 21st "Ask Matt" column, I had to respond to Dorothy's surprise at NCIS: LA's Sam having a wife and family. As a viewer since the beginning, I remember Sam's family being mentioned before, so seeing them wasn't a surprise to me. What surprised me, however, was the emotional punch in seeing Sam go home to his wife after the mission. Seeing Sam's heaviness of heart as he slipped back into his real life created an incredibly poignant ending. It was a reminder of the stakes that governmental agents face during these missions, and it's nice to see a character who has progressed into a relatable phase of life, even though that is not the focus of the show.

Question of the week...
You probably remember the ending of episode "Keepin' It Real" in Season One when Agent Giordano tells G "She must have been one kind of a cop." and he answers "Yes, she was..."
What do you think ??
Have we met that cop yet ?? Could it be Tracy Keller from "Standoff" ?? Or didn't you see "a thing" there... :-)

The Debt (3x10) review by @mokibobolink for @daemonstv
Oh boy, what a wild and wooly ride this episode took me on tonight. Here I was expecting an emotional episode akin to NCIS’s ‘Probie’ with Deeks killing an innocent man and dealing with the ramifications of his actions. But instead we get a huge twist in the middle when we discover the whole thing is a ruse to find a mole in the LAPD. The fact that they didn’t let Kensi in on it was perfect because I, like the bad guys, saw her reactions and believed it was all real.
Speaking of Kensi, can we talk for a second about the tension that was flying between her and Deeks in this one? Again here’s where having Kensi in the dark worked against me. I, like Kensi, saw Deeks’ stumbling attempt at a goodbye as something more than it was. In the end, when he explained how he saw Kensi (as just his “partner”), I really felt for her. I have been in her shoes (heck, I’m sure a lot of people have) and it sucks to realize that the things you thought meant one thing, actually meant something else. Though as much as I was kinda rooting for them, a part of me is okay with it ending like this for now. I’m perfectly happy to see them flirt for a while without it going anywhere.

Ask Matt...
Question: I'm confused, and wondering if I could have fallen asleep and missed something, or maybe they're just trying to keep us in the dark for something unsaid that's about to happen, but when NCIS: Los Angeles ended last week, I thought I was in another dimension somewhere. What's with Sam walking into a house, kissing a kid, telling a woman in bed that he loves her?

6 things I learned from watching TV (by @daemonstv)
Gloat somewhere else
When you win, and you are the bad guy, don’t stop in the middle of your crime and gloat. Go somewhere else to do your dance of joy! Otherwise, you will likely end up dead. How does the song go? “You never count your money while you’re sitting at the table.”
In fact, this happened in a recent episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. One thief fights another thief, and wins, and since he is in the middle of the desert, figures he is free and clear. Oops, not so safe after all. He should have waited until he was home to celebrate!

Betrayal (3x09) music
lyrics of part of "No More" we heard on NCIS Los Angeles...
the dining room has a empty chair
the merit staircase has a empty stair
house full of company but no one's here
we're singing cheers while we holding back tears
to keep up appearances in front of our peers
we play holiday card tricks every year
Black Jack, Poker, make the joker disappear
the ace can't breathe when there's tension in the air
you're the architect of your life it's your show
you create the blueprint and how the rooms flow
before you burn a house down think take it slow
even arsonists need shelter let me know
don't understand what we're going through
but it's like you don't know me and I don't know you NO MORE
not NO MORE
and it's like damn how the hell'd we get here
no I dare but we're not what we were before
could it be that I don't love you and you don't love me NO MORE
bad girl don't live here NO MORE
bad girl NO MORE
slip in the door you hold my hope so
all I hear is love don't live here anymore
we could tear the house down or build some scaffold
we're sitting on the fence so where you wanna go
and it's like damn how the hell'd we get here
no I dare but we're not what we were before

Betrayal (3x09) review by @mokibobolink for @daemonstv
I think I may need a few hours, a good night’s sleep, and possibly a stiff drink to get my head on straight after the ending of tonight’s episode, but I’m going to do my best to write this review now anyway.
Once again I find myself trashing most of the notes I made throughout an episode of a TV show that just knocked me on my butt. Not that I’m complaining. If it means we get endings like the one tonight, I’m all for getting knocked on my ass a few times. So much for all the things I was going to say about Sam being caught in a romance straight out of a romance novel – falling in love with the sister of the man he’s trying to take down, etc, etc.
Instead what we had was Sam on the job and doing whatever it took to catch the bad guy, up to and including making a woman believe that he loved her. I’ll admit to a wee bit of confusion along the way, as I had heard that Sam was supposed to be married (even though we had yet to meet his wife). I just figured that information was wrong or he’d gotten a divorce, etc. But this…this was so much better. I am so in love with the idea of Sam taking a mission as far as he did, even though I know it wasn’t easy on him. Plus we’ve now gotten that little glimpse into his home life that we’ve all been craving. Not nearly enough for me, but I guess it’ll have to do for now.
